Was the person who made this cabin trying to distance themselves from society? The most advanced bit of technology inside was an antique typewriter.
Because the cabin had been constructed illegally on public land, the authorities had to put a notice on the door. Within two weeks, [SEE PICTURE] the cabin was completely gone, with only a few things left behind. Was the builder of the cabin responsible for this?
Where the cabin was once standing tall, was a line going through a circle made from charcoal, meaning “staying, and then leaving”.
The whereabouts of the cabin and the inhabitant/s still remains a mystery. Where are they now?

Mark Andre, the Environmental Services Director of Arcata Community
Forest in California finds a mysterious cabin the middle of a remote
forest. Will the story behind it be solved?
The cabin was hidden well, as it was in the middle of a remote forest. However, that didn’t stop Mark Andre from finding it while tagging trees for an annual timber harvest in 2015.
In the same year, 15 illegal camps were removed from the forest, however this was different. It had been carefully constructed, with minimal impacts to the environment.
Inside, it was thankfully unoccupied at the time, was tinned food, an antique typewriter, a window with a view of the forest, and a small upstairs area for sleeping.
As you can see from the picture, there was also a rocking chair, a desk, and many more small things.
On a shelf constructed within the cabin laid crumpled manuscripts, a dictionary, a book about public secrets, and field guides to local trees and medicinal plants.
