Malungkot na balita kamakailan lamang ay kinailangang palitan ang karakter ni Mr. Spanky Manikan sa My Love from the Star na ikinalungkot ni Gil Cuerva at Jennelyn Mercado ito ay base na rin kasi sa estado ng kalusugan ng beteranong aktor kinailangan na din kasin mamahinga ni Spanky, ngunit nito lamang August 4 ay inanunsyo sa isang fb post ni Nanding Josef "the character actor has been hospitalized four times already for various complications which has drained family savings".
Spanky's wife Susan Africa, "has been by his side all this time". The actor is still confined and in need of six more cycles of chemotherapy.
