Can a person really pray 2,000 rosaries a day? Even if it's businesswoman and suspected pork barrel scam mastermind Janet Lim-Napoles?

Many Twitter users did the math and posted their opinions on the micro-blogging site, after Napoles' lawyer Stephen David claimed his client would pray the rosary that many times.

On Friday, GMA News' Joseph Morong posted a photo of Napoles showing a rosary she supposedly got from now Saint John Paul II when he visited the Philippines in 1995.

Napoles showed her religious side during her bail hearing at the Sandiganbayan Friday by praying a rosary.

Napoles' lawyer Stephen David claimed his client prayed 2,000 rosaries a day.

"Pati pagrorosaryo dinudugas ni Napoles," said blogger Tonyo Cruz.
"Wala[ng] bisa 'yan... kung di karin magsasabi ng katotohanan," said @gnojsalcat.

Blogger Noem Lardizabal-Dado added such a feat would require Napoles to pray 83 rosaries in an hour.

"Wow roughly 83 an hour if one cycle?" She said.

Another Twitter user, @nat_balanza, did the math and said 2,000 rosaries a day is impossible since such a feat would take 500 hours at least.

"Impossible, 500 hours iyan at least. 24hrs/day lang," he said, adding the hashtag #IDidTheMath.

A rosary includes praying at least five mysteries, with each mystery including one Our Father, 10 Hail Marys, and one Glory Be. Praying a rosary may take about 30 minutes.

Napoles faces graft and plunder charges over the alleged P10-billion pork barrel scam.

The scam allegedly involved diverting lawmakers' Priority Development Assistance Fund allocations to bogus non-government organizations supposedly created by Napoles.  GMA News
