In the film, the characters of Coco and Sarah have a summer romance in 2007 that blossomed into a lasting love.
Coco is cast as Tonio, a simple man from the province who wants to become a seaman. He is smitten by Steph (played by Sarah) whom he affectionately calls Teptep.
Their romance was cut short when Tonio suddenly disappeared from Teptep's life for reasons he could not tell her.
Seven years later, Teptep finds out that Tonio is the girlfriend of the socialite Monica (Ruffa Gutierrez) who happens to her boss in the PR firm where she works.
When Teptep/Steph is tasked to reinvent Tonio, their feelings for each other are rekindled.
Directed by Jerry Sineneng, Maybe This Time is graded B by the Cinema Evaluation Board.
During the recent blog conference of the movie, both Coco and Sarah admitted that their characters in the movie are very similar to their real-life personas.
"Yung character ko dito, nag-abroad, nakapag-ipon at tina-try na magbihis [sosyal]," Coco said with a laugh.
When Sarah was asked how she could relate to her character, she pointed out:
As for Coco, he considers it fortuitous to show people a side that is not normally seen by the public.
Coco then admitted that he has a tendency to be guarded when it comes to dealing with the media.
As for Sarah, she admitted that she initially felt uneasy portraying a young girl whose situation has a close resemblance to her own love story.
At this point, Coco exclaimed, "Talambuhay namin ito!"
What lessons did they learn while shooting Maybe This Time?
The Popstar Princess replied, "Everything has its perfect timing. Everything happens for a reason.
"Siguro may pag-ibig na akala mo hindi magbubunga ng maganda at parang hindi kayo para sa isa't isa...pero God has His way."
