Google launches $105 AndroidOne

The mount view-based company tied up with Indian handset makers Micromax, Karbonn and Spice Mobile to launch the 6399 rupees phone which is powered by Google's operating system and target the booming low-cost segment of the world's fastest growing smartphone market.

Google said it plan to expand Android One to Indonesia, Philippines, and other South Asian countries.

With Android One Google aim to improve the quality of hardware and software by giving handset makers a frame of reference. Strong sales of Android One smartphone should mean more internet access, and more usage of Google's suite of products.

The Android One smartphone from Google was launched in India this Monday and aimed to boost sales in key emerging markets through cheaper prices, and better quality of software.
